Jacob's little friend Madi was in a dance recital and invited Jacob to come. He was so excited and loved watching his little friend dance. The whole time he just kept saying, "Mommy! Look at Madi! She looks so beautiful!" It was so sweet. After her dances, we went backstage to get a picture with her. I just told Jacob to stand by her and he immediately put his arm around her and she cuddled up to him. THEY ARE ONLY 4! Honestly! Where do kids pick this stuff up?

Should We Be Worried?

Fighting Fires
Vernal is honestly one of the coldest places I have ever been. Freezing. To help with the heating bill we burn wood in our wood burning stove. It can get really hot sometimes. The other night we were awakened by our fire alarm at midnight. We rush out of our bedroom and our living room is full of smoke. I start freaking out, but we realize that the pot that we put on our stove with water has started to melt and is cooking on top of the stove. It was the worst burning plastic smell ever. It took Clay about 3 hours to get rid of all the smoke and get the fire put out. Our house was so smelly for the next 24 hours, but we were so blessed that our house didn't burn down, especially right before Christmas. It was just another reminder that Heavenly Father is watching over our family. When we have family prayer, we usually ask for a safe sleep and to be warned of any danger that may befall our family. I usually don't think too much about it but now, I do. I know that our home was spared from a fire and we were protected. What a wonderful blessing to have a loving Heavenly Father to watch over us. We are currently being more careful!

On the lighter side, this is a picture of Caleb playing "Fighter Fire"
He dresses up in the gloves and hat his Grandma Dianne made for him and runs around the house putting out fires and saving the day! Our little hero!

Jacob's Gingerbread House
Jacob made this wonderful gingerbread house at preschool. He is so proud of it and has to show it to everyone that comes into our house. He was looking at the blog and saw that I didn't put this picture on so here it is. The beautiful masterpiece!

All Abord!
As one of Caleb's potty training rewards, we got to go to Salt Lake and ride the Front Runner and Trax to Temple Square to see the lights. It was really fun! Grandpa John and Grandma Jan can along with the Dalls. Caleb was so excited he was yelling on the train. It was a blast!

Batty Christmas Party
We had the Batty Christmas Party on Saturday. It's always fun to get together with the crazy Batty's. They had some fun games for the kids to play. The best game was with balloons. They got big huge shirts and pants to put on the kids and then had a race to see how many balloons the other kids could shove into the big clothes. Kamren and Jacob got to be the balloon kids. It was so funny.

Buddy The Elf, What's Your Favorite Color?
This is Buddy the Elf. He is our new friend. He comes to our house at Christmas time and watches us to make sure we are being good. Every night he goes back to the North Pole to tell Santa if we were naughty or nice. Then he comes back every morning and finds a new place to hide so he can watch us. We have been trying very hard to be good so that Buddy can give a good report. Posted by RoseAnna at 12:31 PM 9 comments

Thanksgiving, Barker Style
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I know it's a little late. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Ours was awesome. We were able to go up to Fruit Heights and have Thanksgiving with the Barkers. We were able to stay for 4 whole days. Here are a few of the highlights.

Trick-Or-Treat
I don't know if it's because our last name is Batty but I love Halloween. We had so much fun this year. The boys dressed up like a lion and a monkey and Clay and I were explorers or on a safari. I looks like we found what we were hunting for!

This my friend Kyla and her kids Madi and Breker. I thought they were so cute, I just had to take a picture :)
