Indoor Soccer

Jacob played indoor soccer this year.  He was on the Black Bears team.  And guess who the coach was?  Clay!  It was kind of funny to see Clay try to keep track of the team.  There are no out of bounds and that ball just rolls like crazy.  It was fun to watch and Jacob is coming along really good in his soccer skills!

Hotel Fun

While in San Diego we spent 3 nights in a hotel.  The kids had so much fun.

Aren't vacations the best?  This concludes our California trip pictures.  We also spent 2 nights in LaVerkin with my grandparents where we visited with family and had a blast...but me being brain dead didn't take any pictures.  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for letting us crash on your floor!

Our Gracious Host

While we were going to Disneyland we had the pleasure of staying with our wonderful friend Grandma June.  She lives about 3 minutes from Disneyland and was kind enough to open her home to us.  We had a fun time eating and visiting with here while we were there.  She truly is a saint for letting us all stay.  Thanks Grandma June!

A Day At The Beach

The good thing about going to California in February is the smaller crowds.  The bad thing about going to California in February is the coldish weather.  I say coldish because it was -5 degrees when we left Vernal.  We decided to go to the beach anyway.  I didn't put my kids in their swim suits because I figured it was too cold and they wouldn't want to go into the water.  Wrong.  Jacob ran right down to the water and got soaked so we took off his shirt and sweat shirt and let him play.  Caleb was more conservative and didn't get wet.  They both had a good time...I think.

 Jacob was a "crack" up playing in the sand.  His pants were so wet and heavy they wouldn't stay up.

 This is Jacob making a sand castle under his towel.  It was so cold, especially being totally wet, but Jacob wouldn't let that stop him.

I just had to put my feet in the ocean right before we left and right when I did it a huge wave came and soaked me.  So much for staying dry.

 Our cousin Katie lives in the area and came to have some fun in the sun with us.  We were too cold so we hung out in the parking lot.  It was awesome.  She brought her two cute kids who ate snacks with us.  Our cold kids sat in the car and watched a movie.  Clay also entertained us by throwing peanuts into the air and watching seagulls swoop down and snatch them out of the sky.  It was really fun until one bird ran into Clay's head.  We all thought it was funny. Clay did not.



San Diego Temple

My brother in law's cousin was married in the San Diego Temple while we were in California so we hung outside the temple with all the kids so Becca and Jeremy could go to the ceremony.

It really is a beautiful temple.  I wish we would have had time to do a session!

Sea World

We were able to spend a full day at Sea World.  It was a beautiful day and we saw some awesome stuff.

We saw a really funny Sea Lion show but we didn't have our camera with us.

Then we went to the dolphin show.  It was pretty cool, but a little too cheesy for my taste!

 Then we saw the penguins, Jacobs favorite.  He learned about them at school and really liked being able to see some.

 Then it was off to the amazing Shamu show.  It was awesome and the kids loved it. (So did I)

 Then we went and touched and fed the Manta Rays.  It was so cool.  Caleb didn't really dig the whole situation, but in his defense, they are kind of weird looking!

 Then we went to see and hold the Sea Stars.  Jacob loved this part too.  It was cool to be able to hold them and feel them move.

 Then we had to experience Sesame Street Land.  The kids begged all day.  We spent the remainder of our time playing around and having some fun.  Consequently I didn't get to see the Belugas but I guess I will survive.
