Outraged!

I was at Walmart last night and I witnessed something that made me very angry. I can't stop thinking about it so I thought I would go public with it so I can start to relax.

While I was walking into Walmart, there was a little girl, only about 4 or 5 years old, just standing by herself crying by the front doors. The first reaction for a kind person would be that this little girl needed help. The lady that was walking in front of me stopped and asked her if she lost her mommy. I stopped to see if they needed my help paging the mom. The little girl was crying so hard she couldn't say anything. The lady decided to just wait by the little girl until they found her mother and I was going to go to the service desk to have her mother paged. While I was getting my kids into a cart the mother of the little girl came up and started yelling at the lady. I mean really yelling at her! She was saying stuff like, "How dare you talk to my child, she's in trouble. Mind your own business. This is my child, you don't need to take care of my @#%* kid." The kind lady tried to explain herself but the mom just kept yelling and swearing. The nice lady didn't touch the child or get too close. She was just very concerned about the little girl all by herself crying. Who wouldn't be? The mom ended up grabbing the little girl and practically dragged her across the parking lot, still yelling at the kind lady. I was so mad. We were with the little girl for about 5 minutes before the mom showed up. Who knows how long she was there before that. How easy would it be for someone to drive up and pull her into their car? She was so little.

AND WE WONDER WHY PEOPLE DON'T DO NICE THINGS ANYMORE!

Honestly, if you're just going to get yelled at for doing something nice, why bother. I hate that the world has come to this, people are actually afraid to help. I also hate that someone like that is a mother when there are plenty of wonderful people who would be wonderful parents who don't have children. It's just so sad and unfair. I guess Heavenly Father has a plan. It's just hard for us on earth who can't see the whole plan. This made me want to help in that situation even more, but what about others that saw this happen? Hopefully this mothers' actions don't scare other citizens from being kind and helping when needed.

Treehouse Museum

If you have kids and haven't experienced the Treehouse Museum in Ogden, you really should. It is the cutest little place. The theme there is "Step Into a Story". They have tons of hands on things for kids to do and explore. It's so cute and the kids just loved it. We went there with my sister Becca and her kids and Grandma Jan. It was a really fun day. I literally had to drag Jacob out kicking and screaming. You could spend all day there and not get bored.

Here is King Jacob in the Medieval Exhibit

And Caleb, his squire.

Caleb looking so innocent, emphasis on the looking.

Jacob and Caleb "enjoying" the train exhibit. Honestly, unless Caleb had all of the trains, he wasn't happy.

So, if you haven't experienced this place, it's worth it.

A Week In The City

Since I have been relieved of my babysitting duties for two weeks, I decided to go on vacation...to my parents house. It has been way too long since we spent a significant amount of time out in the city. We had a blast staying up way too late, going to Target everyday, playing with our cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents. We had so much fun! Can we go back? I always hate getting back to reality when I come back home. Anyway-since March is the month for birthdays at our house we had a giant birthday party before we came home. Burdette and Clay have the same birthday, the 17th. Mine is the 23rd and Caleb's is the 26th. Katrina's was the 3rd but she got her own party. When I was little I always had a bunny cake so that is what I requested from my mother this year. So cute!

Burdette, Caleb and Clay blowing the candles out!

My mom made me a sewing kit bag and my parents gave me some totally rockin' shoes. I have been wanting a pair of Keen's for a long time. Thanks mommy and daddy :)

Caleb got a Thomas the Train backpack, shirt, hat and other various Thomas toys. He's obsessed and it's not healthy.
Burdette and Clay got their matching St. Patricks Day shirts and Clay got some sweet moola. Lucky. (Sorry ladies, no picture.)

Here are all the boys. Caleb, Will, Carter and Jacob.
So here was are, back in Vernal. Tomorrow I get to clean my house and do laundry.
Yippie Skippie!

How Very Interesting...

This is a really cool tag because it involves getting stuff!! Serious. You could get something totally awesome from...ME. What could be better :) Here's the tag!

The first three people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year.
4- You have no clue what it's going to be.
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. (He He He )

The catch is that you must re post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 3 people who respond to your blog. The first 3 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! Who's in?
